What is in our Library?
"Search All OPAL" includes the holdings of 20 libraries. Requests Accepted. Delivery in about 2 to 3 days. Delivery Location must equal "Wilberforce." OPAL includes selected holdings of the WU Media Center and of Payne Theological Seminary Ransom Library (more records are being added daily!).

Features Academic Subject Categories, but because of subscription restrictions, not all databases on the OHIOLINK list are accessible from Wilberforce terminals or authentication. If you receive a message similar to "access denied," that database is not available to us.

Hint: HELP button explanations are essential to learn the functions of each database.

From what journals can I read whole articles right on my computer screen, any time of day or night? Which reference database includes the journal I need? (Wilberforce does not subscribe to ExpaAcad or LexNex.)

Media Center

Graphics, pictures, maps
Use to access graphics/pictures, particularly social sciences and art and architecture. Physics experiments as videos. Soon to have educational videos, too.

Wilberforceans, on and off campus, may access these sites. If you are asked for your name and barcode number, you must refer to your official Wilberforce University Library registration barcode. Your library is OPAL/Wilberforce-Payne. Your pickup site is Wilberforce. Contact the Library if you need assistance. (Librarians can advise Wilberforce students and employees on securing a barcode, and replacement barcodes.)

Note:

• Solve Remote Access Problems:
  Most authentication problems to the OhioLINK databases are due to the browser. AOL won't work
• Set Browser Preferences:
  Be sure your browser preferences are set to "Accept All Cookies", and "Java" enabled.
• Get Adobe Acrobat Reader:
  Some databases offer full-text access requiring an Adobe Acrobat Reader. This free software may be downloaded and installed on your computer from http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
