Good Morning, my Wonderful Wilberforce Students:
Tuesday evening, you witnessed the coming together of all that is right and good about America. I encourage you to think about this electoral process that all of you just witnessed over the last two years and in which most of you actively and fully participated. Think carefully about your role as a citizen and a participant in the Change that is coming in America. Use this reflection to assess your college and life goals…Go for the Excellence that I know is within you.
Just watching your enthusiasm was inspiring and filled me with joy and great expectations that each of you will achieve excellence in your lives. I am confident of your ability to take places of leadership as America changes because I witnessed first hand, your passion, leadership and focus on the issues that matter, as you mounted your voter registration drives, and participated in the discussions that preceded the watches you held for the debates, the primaries and Super Tuesday, the conventions and of course last night.
I noted the drive and energy exhibited leading up to the play, Rock The Vote. I watched over the last months as over 225 of you voted early. I watched you on Tuesday as you made certain that everyone voted, regardless of their political affiliation. Your activism brought energy and delight to this long electoral season and I am proud to be your Interim President.
