
IESHA GRAY NAMED NEW WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH
Wilberforce Director of Athletics Geoff Warren announced today that Iesha Gray has been named the new women's basketball coach at Wilberforce. Gray a native of Columbus,Ohio. This is her first year as a Head Coach. "I am very excited about her leading our program, she is intelligent hard working energetic young coach who i believe is a good fit for our program".
Prior to Wilberforce, Gray served as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Heidelberg College for two seasons. During that time Heidelberg was honored by the Women’s Basketball Coach’s Association (WBCA) for ranking fourth in the nation academically with a team GPA of 3.541. She helped develop two All Ohio Athletic Conference Players.
Gray was a standout player for NCAA Division I Wright State University where she earned a spot on the Midwestern Collegiate Conference All-Newcomer Team in 2001. During the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons she was named co-captain and received Most Valuable Player honors from the Raiders. Gray also served as a Horizon League Representative on the Student Athletic Advisory Council.
A Columbus area native, Gray received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University in Political Science, with minors in both African American Studies and Criminal Justice. She is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated.
