
WILBERFORCE UNIVERSITY SCHEDULES DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS
SEPTEMBER 26 & 27
Wilberforce University is proud to announce a series of seminars focused on the entire University family. These seminars will be conducted by Dr. Howard Adams, an internationally known educator, lecturer and consultant in the area of academic, career and professional development. He has presented at more than 500 colleges & universities and numerous national conferences. Dr. Adams has also conducted training for a large number of fortune 500 companies. Moreover, he has authored or co-authored fifteen self-help guides and handbooks. His award list is quite extensive and includes the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Mentoring.
Dr. Adams will conduct seminars for the entire university family (students, faculty and staff) on Friday, September 26 from 9-11AM and 1-3PM in the Alumni Multiplex. Classes will be closed during this time. The morning seminar will focus on Planning for Academic and Career Success and cover developing a success mindset, individual responsibility, dynamics of interpersonal relations and more. The afternoon seminar will center on Identifying, Selecting and Using a Mentor and how this can be helpful not only in academia but in lifelong planning. Both seminars are expected to enhance skill sets as we pursue excellence at Wilberforce University.
On Saturday, September 27, Dr. Adams will continue his discussion with a Faculty-only audience in the University Wellness Center, with sessions from 9-11AM and 12-2PM. Topics discussed include Creating an Enabling Climate and Mentoring: A Proven Strategy for Success. As the key influencers of students knowledge and thinking strategies, the faculty should find important nuggets to add to their teaching portfolio.
