$1.5 Million Residence Hall Challenge

We are well on our way, but we really need your help to make the newest Wilberforce project a reality. Last December, each alum received an appeal in the mail encouraging them to contribute to the construction of a brand new dormitory on the campus. To date, many people have responded positively with gifts in the thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, many—in fact an overwhelming majority—have not responded to this appeal. I wish to encourage you to respond as soon as possible so that this fantastic project has the support promised by alumni at last year's alumni conference.

Last July when alumni from every corner of the nation met in Baltimore, it was agreed that of the $6 million total project cost, alumni would raise $1.5 million of that amount. We are still a long way from this goal. The University needs each of you to answer this challenge to ensure that we do our part to advance the University.

Think about the advantages that you have enjoyed as a result of the sacrifices made by those that struggled to make Wilberforce a reality before the present day. Your gifts will make the difference between the success or failure of generations that have already done their part and the success or failure of generations yet to be born. Indeed, the past and the future rely upon your willingness to play a role today financially.
