Dr. Antonio (Tony) Corvo has been professionally involved in military and commercial research and development since being commissioned an Air Force Second Lieutenant in 1978. Dr. Corvo's first assignment was as a flight test engineer where he accumulated 105 hours in the F-101 and F-106 aircraft in support of his various projects. He later worked extensively on high energy laser basic research for the Strategic Defense Initiative under both the Departments of Defense and Energy, and also participated in highly classified treaty verification programs in conjunction with the Department of State. His last Air Force assignment was as Chief, Science and Technology Inspections, for the Air Force Materiel Command’s Office of Inspector General at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. As a member of the IG team, Dr. Corvo either led, or was involved in, nearly 30 multi-week inspections and assessments of major Air Force bases and centers involving teams of up 100 personnel.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1998 as a Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Corvo has held management positions for several high technology companies in the Dayton, Ohio area. He was instrumental in developing a successful product ruggedization program designed to allow circuit boards to meet extreme thermal, vibration, and shock environments. He has published papers on flight testing, lasers, and nonlinear optics, and has given presentations at several international conferences. He also has served as a Physics and Mathematics adjunct professor at the University of Dayton and Sinclair Community College, both in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Corvo is currently a senior staff member of the Greentree Group, a strategic and technology consulting firm located in Beavercreek, Ohio, and is currently providing full time technical support to the Advanced Virtual Engine Test Cell (AVETeC) located in Springfield, Ohio. He received his PhD in Physics in 1987 from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a Masters Degree in 1978 and a Bachelors Degree in 1976, both in Physics and both from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. |
