Optimists Get "Real" at Local High School

Members of the Wilberforce University Optimist Club visited Belmont High School on Thursday, November 8, to discuss the transition to college and adulthood to junior and senior level students in a program entitled, "Real Talk." Using a panel format, WU Optimists disussed a multitude of topics under the umbrella "I'm Eighteen... Now What?" Transitioning to college life, college life, enrolling in the Selective Services Program and more were areas discussed. Belmont students also received information about professional development by viewing examples of a good (and bad) interview and learning how to dress for success. The Optimist program was organized by Ms. Whitney White, WU Comunications major. Other WU Optimists participating included Jerin Lloyd, Olivia Letcher, Ashhli Walker, Quanisha Holloway, Donald Brooks, Quanteria Goodwin, Christopher Brown, Antonya Smith and Ale'ce Andrew.
