Wilberforce University’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) is committed to enhancing understanding and recognition of Wilberforce’s mission, and foster political, volunteer, and financial support for the institution. Our departments engage in a variety of activities allowing us to build relationships with and gain support from a broad swath of constituencies: alumni, community, private donors, lawmakers, parents, corporations, and other supporters.
The OIA’s mission is to cultivate private funding and other support from the various constituencies mentioned above. This support is instrumental to the university’s mission of providing unsurpassed educational opportunity and service to Ohio, the nation, and the world. The OIA team is here to provide the most current information on giving opportunities at Wilberforce, and supporting your individual effort to support our institution’s goals. We thank you for your support, and anticipate opportunities to work with you.
Wilberforce University Alumni Association promotes the welfare of Wilberforce University. Through alumni giving (time, talent, and fiscal resources), we enthusiastically support our HBCU in its endeavor to provide an exceptional liberal arts education to students from around the world.
The Wilberforce National Alumni Endowed Scholarship
Through generous support of Wilberforce Alumni, over 50 scholarships are awarded each year to students. Scholarships are awarded at the annual University Honors Day Convocation held in April. If you are a student, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to determine eligibility and application. The application deadline is February 26.
The WUAA (Wilberforce University Alumni Association) is comprised of eight Executive Board members and 15 members as Board of Directors. Several working committees diligently work on an annual basis to provide the support for the University. Contact Dr. Talbert Grooms for more information about serving in leadership of the WUAA.
The Wilberforce University Alumni Association supports alumni chapters around the world. These chapters and alumni events provide opportunities for alumni to engage and connect with their communities, area alumni, and Wilberforce.
Give to Wilberforce!
Your financial support to Wilberforce University strengthens the opportunities we can provide at the university. We can continue the development of our students by preparing them academically and intellectually to be global citizens, imparting knowledge, instilling discipline and lifelong learning. The annual fund provides opportunity for alumni and friends of the university to support students, faculty and infrastructure.
For our STUDENTS your support provides scholarships, activities and program funding to ensure that students can complete their studies with a full college experience at Wilberforce University.
For our FACULTY your support assists with research and academic initiatives.
For our INFRASTRUCTURE your support provides resources to ensure that the Wilberforce University experience is a positive one for our students, faculty and staff, including extra-curricular activities and the preservation of our campus.
