Students and their parents should complete/submit the Free Application for Federal Student d (FAFSA) as early as possible, applications are available January 1.
The priority filing date for Wilberforce University is March 15, 2010 for all students. To qualify as a priority filer, we must be in receipt of your Student Aid Report (SAR), including a valid Expected Family Contribution (EFC), by March 15, 2010.* We recommend that you submit the FAFSA via the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The University’s date to submit documents for priority consideration is April 30.
We can not overemphasize the extreme importance of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal FAFSA as soon as possible after the first of the year, regardless of whether you completed your 2010 IRS income tax return. If you do not meet the priority filing date, complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.
Completed applications received after April 30th, may not be processed for all the aids for which you may be eligible to receive because certain funds may be exhausted, such as Federal Work-Study, Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and institutional grants and scholarships.
Applications for financial assistance are generally subject to the following:
1. You must be admitted before your application is reviewed, regardless of date of receipt of your application for financial aid.
2. Your application must completed before it is reviewed (all items must be on file).
3. You must accept an offer of financial aid by turning in the signed acceptance.
4. Admission to the University does not mean that the applicant is guaranteed aid.
